Just Breath...
I can very much still say that my soldier has a job to do. He might not be paid until the budget is approved, but he MUST eventually be paid, right? We can't expect soldiers in this country to work like slaves.
I hold to the gratitude of soldiers like my husband's friend who promises, in light of a potential for an awful shutdown, that he's got his battle buddy's back. If things get too tight to pay the rent next month, he's offered to loan us the money until the govt. pays everyone their earnings. I am very grateful for friends like that.
More, so I am thankful that my husband is a wonderful soldier and that he has stood by his friends long and hard enough for them to reciprocate the love and respect he has shown them. That when times are tough, these friends can stand on each other's shoulders and raise the bar.
We are blessed enough to have enough food to feed us for a few months even in light of the fact that the longest shutdown in our history has apparently been under 20 days. I am lucky enough to know how to make things like bread and most anything we could find in the kitchen to eat.
I am very much blessed that because we still live in our hometown, I have people like my brothers and my dad. I know that they are awesome for little things such as milk and eggs, should I run out in the case of a shutdown without pay.
I think that even if things get "bad" they are still a lot better than what most people have today. I am not losing my home. I have no incredible bills to cover. I overpaid my electricity so I shouldn't have to worry about too much. Even if they shut off the cable... I'll live. My kids might panic but they'll soon remember the thousands of dollars worth of toys, video games, craft stuffs and coloring books they have sitting in the house.
We will make the lemonade so to speak and know that whatever happens tomorrow, we'll be taken care of.
We got this.

Kelly’s Coffee and Fudge!
I had the most terrific Saturday and it all began when I stepped into our local mall and got really hungry! I had been so incredibly busy that I forgot to eat breakfast! It being lunchtime by now, I figured I would try a spot I’d never ventured into.
So, I had the honey ham on squaw bread sandwich. It was so yummy I wish I had brought home leftovers. The bread so soft it melted in my mouth and the service was wonderful. The lady behind the counter was so sweet. I was delighted, as a Christian, to find teapot/cup sets with Bible verses on them as well!
I believe that next time I hit up the mall, I’ll drop in for a sandwich and might even enjoy some of their goodies in the desert section! Delicious and couldn’t speak more highly over the people inside!
Hit up your local Kelly’s Coffee and Fudge! So much more than that inside and so worth the price!

Does this makeup look safe to you?
So, often we women think little of picking up a new tube of lipstick and prepping to go out into the world. It helps us feel positive, sexy and confident. But, as I always do, I was checking out things with a few of last years purchases and I found a few of my things contains something called ultramarines.
This is not really all that necessary of a product and in fact isn’t used in many of my things ( I try to research everything) I have purchased, but a few important things did have it listed in the ingredients. I then contacted the FDA on the matter and the list I found included this:
Color Additive: Ultramarines
Eye Area: Yes
Lipsticks: No
External Use: Yes
73.2725
Then I thought, isn’t Ultramarine in my Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics (OCC) Lip Tar? I checked all 4 of my brand new tubes... and lo and behold it was. Remembering this today, I googled it to see if anyone else had noticed... and found a story about the presence of lead in our lipsticks! LEAD!!
So, after all my rag tag internet follies... I landed on this website
http://www.cosmeticdatabase.com
This website has lists upon lists of makeup products that you probably use and lists them in rank based on hazardous chemicals and outcomes. You out to take a look. It’s actually kind of scary to see pricey things on the same level as cheap things. Cutting corners like the little guys but charging us a fortune for lipstick is not very awesome.
I didn’t need any MAC products listed, but to my knowledge, the site is reporting on a lot of items so maybe it’s an on-going list.
Happy Shopping!
